Europe’s Biggest Eid Event Held in London

LONDON: Over 220,000 visitors have attended London Eid Festival from Apr. 29 to May 1, the organizers said on Monday. Europe’s biggest Eid Al-Fitr festival has welcomed Muslim and non-Muslim community members to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan in London.

On the occasion, the guests lauded the organisers for arranging such a good festival and said that they enjoyed live entertainment, food and modest fashion during the festival.  A large number of people visited the annual event on the weekend and Monday. Several activities, including cookery demonstrations, a fashion show and a beauty masterclass, were held during the festival. Many visitors took a huge interest in the Islamic art gallery during the Eid festival.

Europe’s Biggest Eid Celebration

At Westfield Square, visitors enjoyed the beautiful works of henna artists in addition to the Halal Food Festival.  Many people took an interest in various cuisines from across the world, including Pakistan, the Middle East and North Africa.

Many people said that they visited the festival to enjoy music and qawwali. They hoped that the event would be held in the next year as well and lauded the role of the organisers in this regard.

MD at Algebra Consulting told the media that they have felt a great sense of belonging at Westfield London for the last several years and were excited to bring back the London Eid Festival for its fourth year. It added that with its ever-growing success, the festival offered a plethora of activities and enjoyment for the thousands of people celebrating Eid Al-Fitr this year.

Earlier, Katie Wyle, GM at Westfield London, said the Muslim community is incredibly significant to Westfield London, and they are honoured to once again welcome the London Eid Festival.

Katie Wyle said that the festival has grown to become a key highlight in their cultural events calendar, and they look forward to again and again welcoming families of the Muslim faith and other communities to participate in the celebration of goodwill and unity.
