Ex-BAP Minister Asim Kurd Gello Joins PPP

ISLAMABAD: Former minister from the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Asim Kurd Gello on Tuesday announced to join Pakistan People’s Party.

Asim Kurd Gello remained senior vice-president of BAP. He made the announcement after meeting the PPP leader and chief whip in Senate, Saleem Mandviwala. Kurd also remained finance minister of Balochistan province.

In a statement, Saleem Mandviwala said, PPP welcomes Asim and added that his party always fought for the basic rights to the Balochistan people. Asif Ali Zardari, he added, always spoke about the rights of Balochitan.

Asim Kurd Gello did BA from University of Balochistan

Born in December 1957 in Quetta, Gello received a degree in Bachelor of Arts from University of Balochistan. He was elected a member to the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from Constituency PB-30 Kachhi-I in 2002 general elections. He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-Q from Constituency PB-30 Bolan-I in the 2008 Pakistani general elections.
