Ex-Fulham FC owner Mohamed Al Fayed Dies at 94

LONDON: Former owner of Fulham Football Club and business tycoon Mohamed Al Fayed, has passed away at the age of 94, western media reported on Friday.

Under his possession, Fulham FC made remarkable achievements, rising from the third tier to the Premier League.

His son Dodi was killed in a car crash with Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997.

The football world and British society will always remember the services of Al Fayed and it would not be easy to forget him.

Fulham in grief over Al Fayed’d death

The Fulham has expressed deep grief and sorrow at his passing, acknowledging his contributions towards the club and football world.

Fulham’s current owner, Shahid Khan paid rich tributes to Al Fayed adding the business tycoon was fully committed to Fulham.

The former boss of Harrods, was born in Egypt and moved to the UK in the 1970s. Al Fayed’s started his journey by selling fizzy drinks on the streets in Egypt.

Before moving to the UK, he setup a business empire in Middle East. He did not opt for the British Passport despite his huge business in UK.  In 1985 he purchased Paris Ritz hotel and Harrods.

He was a keen philanthropist and supported underprivileged and unwell children generously. He established Al Fayed Charitable Foundation in 1987 to make the lives of disadvantaged youngsters better.
