MOSCOW: An administration building of an oil pipeline in Russia’s Pskov region was damaged by an explosion caused by two drones, according to regional governor Mikhail Vedernikov.

The incident occurred in the village of Litvinovo, near the Belarusian border. No casualties have been reported, and an investigation is underway.

The blast is part of a series of escalating attacks in Russia amidst the ongoing Ukraine offensive. Unconfirmed reports from Baza, a Russian Telegram outlet with sources in the secret services, suggest that the drones targeted the Transneft oil pumping station in Pskov.

Additionally, Baza reported an attack on an oil refinery in the western Tver region near Erokhino, where a drone had crashed without causing injuries.

Surge in Drone Attacks in Russia

In recent weeks, there has been a surge in reports of drone attacks in Russia, particularly in regions bordering Ukraine. The Russian government has attributed these attacks to Kyiv and its Western supporters, while Ukraine has denied any involvement.

On a separate note, the regional governor of Belgorod announced that his region had come under fire again, just a day after reporting numerous Ukrainian strikes. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed that the shelling hit Shebekino, near the Ukrainian border, but no casualties were reported.
