CALIFORNIA: Social media giant Meta Inc has introduced its monetization tool, Facebook Stars, enabling eligible creators to help them connect with their audiences and grow their businesses.
According to a statement from the tech giant, Meta Stars will enable fans to send and purchase digital goods to support creators, check the income by type of content produced by Pakistani content creators, manage their goals, and access other Stars settings.
Meta Reels, Meta Live, on-demand videos, photos, and text posts all support the feature.

“A major element of our ongoing investment in Pakistan is supporting creators as they establish communities and turn their interests into successful businesses. Today, we’re excited to announce that Facebook Stars is now available to all Pakistani creators who qualify, allowing more people to start making money as they develop their talent, audiences, and careers” said Jordi Fornies, director of emerging markets for Asia Pacific at Meta.
Reels, Meta’s short-form videos that resemble TikTok, were just this year introduced to Pakistan. Reels quickly rose to the top of the list of Meta platforms’ fastest-growing content types. Every day, Reels are played on Facebook and Instagram in excess of 140 billion times.
When he visited the Meta regional office in Singapore today, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that “We are encouraged by Meta’s role in promoting small businesses in Pakistan and providing new opportunities for local content producers to make a real, consistent living off of their platforms. We anticipate that the Stars programme will expand revenue potential and contribute to the development of the nation’s digital economy.”
Facebook Stars will be available to all content creators who have at least 1,000 online followers in the last 60 days.
Danish Ali, a content creator, said: “It’s great to see Stars has opened in Pakistan, providing more artists like me on Facebook and Reels the opportunity to establish community and make money doing what we love.”
