ISLAMABAD: The Fact Checker of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) has declared the article published in “The Diplomat” magazine about the visit of a high-level Chinese delegation to Pakistan as baseless and misleading.
“An attempt has been made in the article to create a misleading link between the trip and the incidents of terrorism”, a statement said. The Fact Checker stated that the article was based on incorrect pretext and untrue context. It added that the trips of foreign dignitaries continue throughout the year. The article was completely misleading and baseless, the Fact Checker maintained.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar on Saturday said that “The Diplomat” magazine in its article had attempted unsuccessfully to spoil Pakistan’s ties with long-time friend China.
In his reaction to the article published in the journal through his social media account, the Minister said: “This is yet another failed attempt to damage Pakistan’s ties with its time-tested friend China. These assaults on our foreign policy will never succeed.”
He stated that the impression given in the article was based on false views which did not reflect the sentiments of the people of Pakistan.
