LAHORE: A fake video of Arshad Nadeem defeating Neeraj Chopra at the Olympics has gone viral, local media reported. The Paris 2024 Olympics are in full swing, with thousands of athletes from around the globe striving for glory. Among them, javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem leads a seven-member team from Pakistan.
Pakistani fans are hopeful that Nadeem will win a medal, especially given the disappointing performances of other Pakistani athletes. A viral social media video claims to show Nadeem surpassing his Indian rival Neeraj Chopra by breaking the record with a javelin throw of 90 km. The video allegedly shows Nadeem throwing the javelin over 90 km.

However, this video is fake and actually from the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where Nadeem achieved a 90 km throw. The javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics is scheduled to begin today, and Nadeem has yet to compete. It’s also notable that around 31 athletes from around the world are competing in the Olympic javelin throw event.
