Faisal Mosque in Pakistan Attracts Thousands for First Friday Prayer of Ramadan

ISLAMABAD: A large number of Pakistani Muslims gathered at Shah Faisal Mosque in Federal capital to perform the first Friday prayer of Ramadan, the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

The mosque experiences a doubling of worshippers during Ramadan, drawing worshippers from the twin cities and across the country to perform Friday prayer in the holy month Ramadan.

With an impressive size of over 54,000 square feet, the Faisal Mosque can accommodate more than 250,000 people simultaneously, making it Pakistan’s largest mosque and the fourth largest globally.

The Faisal Mosque named in the honour of then the Saudi Arabia King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, who visited Pakistan in 1966 and bestowed a generous $120 million grant for its construction.
