ISLAMABAD: A fake report has been circulating on digital media platforms claiming that China has withdrawn its engineers from the ongoing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
According to the false claims, the development is a significant blow to the CPEC initiative, as 97 Chinese engineers have decided to leave the country.
The fake report also indicates that further groups of Chinese engineers are preparing to pack up and depart in the coming days, which could leave thousands of Pakistani labourers facing unemployment.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan highly values the economic corridor project and is providing all kinds of security to the Chinese citizens working on the project.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar had also said that Pakistan is committed to taking CPEC to the next level to strengthen cooperation with China in diverse fields.
