BUENOS AIRES: The father of One Direction pop singer Liam Payne, who passed away on October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, arrived in Argentina on Friday.
As per western media reports Geoff Payne landed in Buenos Aires at 6:00 am in the morning.
It is not clear whether he would visit the morgue where the body of his late son, is being kept pending the results of toxicological tests. The 31-year-old was a member of Britain’s most successful pop groups of recent years.
According to the postpartum report, the late star suffered “multiple traumas” and “internal and external hemorrhaging” after falling from the balcony of his room on the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday night.
The autopsy said he did not try to stop his fall and was in a state of “semi or total unconsciousness” before his death.
The singer had spoken about struggles with alcohol and coping with fame from an early age publicly.
Payne was found dead after hotel staff called emergency services reporting a guest was destroying his room under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
His former One Direction bandmates, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, expressed shock at the tragic news saying they were “completely devastated” by his death.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC also offered their condolences. Payne was in Argentina to attend a concert by Niall Horan.
