ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry has demanded early elections in Pakistan, stating that small people have sat on big chairs.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, he identified the problem of the people of Pakistan as the delay in holding the elections within the next 90 days.

Chaudhry criticized the government’s cowardice in avoiding the elections and warned that if the assembly is dissolved, the elections must be held immediately. He called on Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign on these issues.

According to the PTI leader, the politics of Pakistan was brought into crisis through a conspiracy. He further maintained that there is a need for a strong government to address the issues of Kashmir and Palestine and lamented that the current government has failed to raise a voice against the oppression faced by Palestinians from Israeli forces.

Chaudhry also mentioned the improved relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, highlighting that the United Nations General Assembly meeting was held during Imran Khan’s tenure.

He emphasized that Imran Khan had played a key role in restoring relations between the two countries.

Fawad Chaudhry’s demand attracts mix reaction

The PTI leader’s call for early elections has drawn mixed reactions from political circles in Pakistan. Some have criticized the move, arguing that the country is currently facing significant challenges, such as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and that an early election could lead to further instability.

Others have supported Chaudhry’s demand, citing the need for transparency and accountability in the political process.

They argue that early elections could help resolve the country’s political crisis and pave the way for a stronger, more effective government.

The PTI leader’s press conference has sparked a debate, with many questioning the government’s ability to address the pressing issues facing the country.

The call for early elections is likely to remain a contentious issue in the coming weeks and months, with political parties and leaders jostling for position ahead of the polls.
