ISLAMABAD: The federal Cabinet of Pakistan chaired by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Monday granted approval to the appointment of Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar as the new chairman of NADRA ( National Database and Registration Authority).
According to a press release issued here on Monday evening, the cabinet after a thorough deliberation picked one out of the three names being finalized by the selection committee and granted approval for appointing General Muhammad Munir as chairman of NADRA.
Addressing the cabinet, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that Professional Education and Vocational Training was the requirement of the current era to compete in the international market. He emphasized attaining vocational skills for Pakistani students to get employment abroad and stressed the concerned authorities to take concrete measures in the field of professional education and vocational skills.
Cabinet Grants Approval to Agreements
The federal cabinet on the recommendation of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, granted approval to the agreement between Area Study Centre Peshawar and Central Asia Research Centre of the Corvinus University Hungary.
Meanwhile, the cabinet also granted approval to several other agreements and projects including approval to the service level agreement between Saudi-based Agency Takamol Vocational and Technical Training Commission and Federal Education Ministry and Vocational Training.
The federal cabinet also accorded approval to the agreement between the governments of Pakistan and Ecuador, under which official and diplomatic passport holders of both the country would be exempted from applying for Visas.
The Federal Cabinet granted approval to change the name of Summit Bank into Makrama Bank on the recommendation of the Ministry of Finance.
