LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) senator Saifullah Niazi and other PTI leaders for alleged involvement in illegally collecting foreign funding.
According to media reports, FIA has launched a crackdown against PTI for alleged involvement in unlawful foreign funding. The agency has arrested Saifullah Niazi and Hamid Khan in prohibited foreign funding case.
Hamid Zaman had contested election on PTI ticket from Shahdara Bagh, Islamabad. He also serves as the Chairman of the Punjab North Zone of the All-Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA). The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) stated that PTI had been involved in unlawful foreign funding and determined that the party had accepted fundings from 34 foreign nationals.
