ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday filed a petition in the Banking Court, seeking to form a medical board of the Polyclinic or PIMS for a medical checkup of PTI Chief Imran Khan.

In its plea, FIA stated that a petition from Imran Khan for bail extension has been pending with the banking court. “The PTI Chief is getting an unfair advantage of the relaxation after he was granted interim bail,” FIA stated.

“He is not cooperating with the FIA team for investigation. He has an orthopedic problem but submitting a medical report to the cancer hospital,” FIA pleaded.

“PTI chief Imran Khan is the head of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, so medical report of the hospital has not been accepted as authentic,” according to the plea.

The FIA has pleaded for a medical examination of Imran Khan from the Polyclinic hospital or Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). “His medical reports from the Polyclinic or PIMS can be considered fair,” FIA stated.

The FIA has requested the court for the constitution of a medical board for Khan. The investigation agency has sought a court order to form a medical board that submits its medical report of the PTI chief in the court after his examination.

Earlier in the day, the banking court’s Special Judge Rakhshanda Shaheen ordered Imran Khan to appear before her on February 28 in the funding case. A criminal case, which the FIA is probing, was registered against PTI chief after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) a fact-finding report found irregularities in the PTI funding in August last.
