ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has served summon on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s lawyer, Naeem Haider Panjutha to record his statement in an inquiry related to alleged Facebook posts of judge Humayun Dilawar, who heard the Toshakhana case.

According to the notice, Panjutha has been asked to report today (August 8) at 10:00 am to record his statement in the inquiry.

The notice stated that an inquiry has been initiated against PTI chief’s lawyer on the direction of Islamabad High Court.

“In case of non-appearance, it will be assumed that you have nothing to present or state in your defence,” the notice stated. It is to mention here that the PTI lawyers had objected to the conduct of Judge Humayun Dilawar – who heard Toshakhana criminal case and handed Imran Khan three years imprisonment – for alleged posts on his facebook page against Imran Khan. The alleged Facebook posts disliked PTI chairman and had made derogatory remarks about him.

Judge Humayun Dilawar Saturday sentenced the PTI chief to a three-year term and an Rs100,000 fine in the Toshakhana case – a move that may change the country’s political landscape ahead of the general elections. Announcing the short judgement, the court also disqualified Khan for five years from holding any office.

Soon after the verdict, the PTI chief was arrested from his Zaman Park residence and shifted to the Central Jail Attock.
