KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took action on Monday by preventing Khawar Maneka, the former husband of Bushra Bibi (the current wife of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan), from boarding a flight to Dubai.

The FIA’s intervention is linked to a ‘corruption’ case initiated by the Punjab Anti-Corruption against Khawar Maneka.

Khawar Maneka had planned to travel to Dubai via an international flight when he was stopped by the FIA, citing his name being placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).

The FIA has announced that Khawar Maneka will be handed over to the anti-corruption team at Lahore Airport for further proceedings.

Khawar Maneka is a senior official in the Customs department, hailing from Pakpattan, and is known for his spiritual devotion to the 13th-century mystic, Baba Farid Ganj Shakkar.

Notably, Khawar’s father, Ghulam Muhammad Maneka, had a political background and served as a federal minister under Benazir Bhutto. Ghulam Muhammad Maneka passed away in 2011.
