ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle in Lahore has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Shandana Gulzar for questioning on March 14.

The summons was issued in response to allegations against Gulzar for making defamatory remarks against state and government figures and allegedly inciting people to rebellion through her social media posts.

Gulzar is specifically accused of implicating Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in an audio leak scandal, referencing a deceased PTI worker, Zille Shah, in an alleged audio recording.

The accusations against Gulzar were lodged by PML-N activist Shoaib Mirza, who filed an application alleging her involvement in defamatory activities against government officials and institutions.

The FIA Cyber Crime Circle has taken cognizance of these allegations and has summoned Shandana Gulzar for questioning on March 14 to conduct further inquiries into the matter.

Criticism of Shandana Gulzar’s Remarks

Earlier, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari commented on the case, emphasizing the responsibility of every member to uphold the sanctity of the assembly. She criticized Gulzar’s actions, labeling them as PTI’s political maneuvers.

Bukhari demanded evidence to support Gulzar’s allegations against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and noted that an application for the registration of an FIR against Gulzar had been submitted. She said that neither a “woman card” nor a political card would be permitted to be played in this regard.
