DOHA: Qatar Financial Center’s Purchasing Managers Index survey has revealed fast growth in business activities in the months of December and November due to the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Retail, wholesale, and service providers in the gulf country registered huge activities driving a record overall increase in prices charged for services and goods. Qatar’s PMI is a composite single-figure indicator of non-energy private sector performance that is derived from new orders, employment, output, stock of purchases and suppliers’ delivery times.

Yousuf Al-Jaida, CEO at QFC Authority said that the FIFA World Cup makes its mark on the economy of Qatar in December. He further said that the financial services sector had also recorded a huge increase in business activities in December 2022 showing the strongest growth during last six-year.
