ISLAMABAD: In the FIFA World Cup 2022 Group H match between two-time winners Uruguay and Ghana saw the South American side the Africans 2-0 at Qatar’s Al Janoub Stadium.
In the other Group H match, South Korea beat Portugal. Due to a better goal average, South Korea moved into the second round at the expense of Uruguay. Portugal had already qualified.
Uruguay beat Ghana but South Korea Advance
In the 26th minute of the first half, Georgian de Arrascaeta netted the ball to make it 1-0. In the 32nd minute, de Arrascaeta scored another goal to make it 2-0.
Even though Ghana had a better ball possession percentage of 44 percent and beat just 38 percent, the Ghanaians could not fight the way to penetrate the defenses. Thus, at the time of the final whistle, led 2-0 and won the match.
