Fire at Unregistered Russian Care Home Leaves 20 Dead

ISLAMABAD: At least twenty people were killed after a fire broke out at an unregistered care home in Siberia.

Initial reports said that the fire broke out at a two-storey wooden building being used as a private nursing home in the city of Kemerovo on Friday. According to Russia’s Tass news agency, a criminal investigation has been launched into the possibility that the fire was caused by negligence. According to the reports, the entire second storey had been gutted in the fire, however, the flames were brought under control shortly afterwards. 

Unregistered facilities 

Governor of Kuzbass Sergey Tsivilev said that all similar facilities, especially those privately-owned, would be inspected thoroughly within the coming week.
