ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has initiated efforts to acquire manuscripts and other necessary materials for the country’s inaugural literature-focused museum dedicated to Pakistani languages, currently under development at the academy.
PAL Chairperson Najiba Arif said that the establishment of this literary museum aims to both safeguard and promote the rich literary heritage encompassing all regional languages of Pakistan. In addition to preserving and promoting the distinctive linguistic diversity inherent in Pakistani culture and linguistics, the museum will offer visitors an opportunity to investigate into the scripts, historical context, alphabetical structures, folklore, and significant literary works of Pakistan’s various regional languages.
Najiba further emphasized that the museum will serve as a comprehensive resource, showcasing information on all regional languages spoken across the country through exhibits including scripts, pamphlets, and audio and video documentaries.
