MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan’s Neelum Valley has experienced its first snowfall of the year, transforming the picturesque region into a winter wonderland. Snowfall was reported in areas including Ratti Gali Lake, Baboon Valley, and Shounter Lake, marking the official onset of winter in the upper reaches of Neelum Valley.
The arrival of snowfall attracted a large number of tourists who flocked to popular destinations such as Ratti Gali Lake, Baboon Valley, Chitta Katha Lake, and Patlian Lake to witness the natural beauty enhanced by the white blanket of snow.
Weather Changes in Pakistan
Meanwhile, other parts of the country also experienced changes in weather conditions, with cities in Punjab, including Lahore, receiving light rainfall. Areas like Kot Lakhpat, Township, Gulberg, Ichhra, and Cantt in Lahore were among those witnessing rainfall.
However, heavy showers led to the tripping of electricity feeders, and in Faisalabad, the roads resembled massive pools due to waterlogging.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a warning stating that moderate to heavy rainfall could lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas of Lahore, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi. Furthermore, it cautioned that moderate to heavy rains might trigger landslides in vulnerable regions like Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, and Abbottabad from September 22nd to 24th.
