KARACHI: Five women sub-inspectors of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have moved the Sindh High Court (SHC), challenging the provisional seniority list.

The court has issued notices to the FIA headquarters and the FIA Regional Zone, Sindh on the petition.

Moving the SHC through Hasan Mandviwalla advocate, the petitioners contended that the FIA’s provisional seniority list released on Jan 25, 2023 counted their service from a date in 2010, instead of their joining in 2007.

The petition said that the seniority of their batch-mates had been counted from 2003, therefore, their seniority should also be counted from the date of their appointment. It said the FIA’s seniority list of Jan 25, 2023 was in violation of Article 25 of the Constitution.

The court issued notices to the FIA Headquarters and FIA Zone Sindh, directing them to allay the objections of the petitioners until the next hearing fixed for November 29, 2023.
