ISLAMABAD: The dense fog continues to cover multiple areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad for the third consecutive night, causing disruptions to road travel on major routes.

Motorists struggled with challenging conditions as heavy fog significantly obstructed visibility. Cars and bikes moved cautiously, with many traveling in slow speeds and using hazard lights.

Police officials took proactive measures by removing barriers at select check posts to enhance safety, keeping in view the difficulty faced by motorists in identifying barriers in the dense fog.

As of 1 AM on Tuesday, different areas of the twin cities remained under fog.

The impact of the dense fog was not limited to residential areas as key commercial areas in Islamabad also experienced less visibility, affecting the traffic flow.

Furthermore, several motorways faced closures because of the foggy conditions. Spokesperson of the highway and motorway police termed the heavy fog as the primary reason for the closure.
