Fog Disrupt Traffic on Motorways in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: After a short spell of clear visibility, fog descended on several parts of Punjab, disrupting traffic on several sections of the motorway.

Several upper parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir received snowfall, while the plain areas of Punjab and Sindh received light to moderate rain.

Fog leads to closure of motorway

The dense fog led to the closure of Multan motorway, M-5 from Faizabad to Jaranwala, motorway (M-11) from Mehmood Booti to Shahdara Kala Khatai Interchange, motorway (M-2) from Lahore to Kot Momin and motorway (M-5) from Sher Shah to Zahir Pir. 

Lahore ranked 2nd polluted city 

The air quality of Lahore remained hazardous and the second most polluted city in the world, with its air quality hovering at 176.

Rain and snow forecast 

The Met Office has forecast rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in the upper parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Upper Punjab and North Balochistan on Saturday. The Met Office has forecast cold for most parts of the country.
