ISLAMABAD: Heavy fog is likely over plain areas of Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during the night and morning hours as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department weather forecast for the next 24 hours.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast partly cloudy weather in most upper parts of the country. Light snowfall is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. As per the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave is affecting the upper parts of the country.
Foggy weather in morning
There is heavy fog in different areas of Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in the morning. Due to heavy fog, Islamabad-Lahore Motorway has been closed from Lahore to Sheikhupura, while Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway has been closed from Faizpur to Samundri.

Due to fog and smog, the motorway police have issued a travel advisory for road-users to avoid unnecessary travel. Motorway police have advised the public to use fog lights while traveling, and there should be a reasonable distance from other vehicles.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met), a maximum of 10 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 16°C in Lahore, 19°C in Karachi, 8°C in Peshawar, 3°C in Quetta, and 0.5°C in Gilgit.

Today’s Recorded Lowest Minimum Temperatures (°C): Leh -07, Skardu -06, Gupis -04, Kalat and Ziarat -03.
