ISLAMABAD – In a significant legal development, a sessions court in Islamabad has decided to send former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry to jail on judicial remand in connection with an alleged financial fraud case.

Fawad Chaudhry, who recently parted ways with the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party over his involvement in the May 9 violence, was taken into custody from his residence in Islamabad. This move has drawn substantial attention as the former PTI leader faces serious legal repercussions.

The former federal minister, Fawad Chaudhry, was presented before Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood’s court after completing a one-day physical remand. This case revolves around allegations of financial fraud.

During the court hearing, the police authorities sought an extension in Fawad Chaudhry’s physical remand to allow for further investigation. However, the court ultimately denied the request for an extension, resulting in the decision to place Fawad Chaudhry in judicial remand.
