The CTD said on Tuesday that at least four terrorists were killed by their accomplices during the exchange of fire.

According to sources, the CTD team was transferring the alleged terrorists from Miranshah to Bannu, when the terrorists belonging to the banned Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) opened fire with sophisticated in an attempt to get their accomplice freed from custody.

The CTD team retaliated and pushed back the attackers.

Reinforcements were also sent to the area and four terrorists were killed during the exchange of fire. Several government vehicles were also damaged in the gunbattle.

“Four terrorists were killed in the firing by their would-be “rescuers,” while six other militants escaped the scene taking advantage of darkness and bushes,” the CTD said.

CTD identifies terrorists

The slain terrorists, identified as Irshadullah, Abdur Rahman and Mehar Din, were wanted to the CTD in several terrorism cases. One terrorist, however, could not be identified, the CTD said.
