Four US Citizens Stabbed in China

BEIJING: At least four American college instructors working in China were injured in a reported stabbing at a public park, western media reported on Tuesday.  Their employer and the US State Department also confirmed the incident in China.

According to AFP, they were on an academic exchange and worked as instructors at Iowa’s Cornell College, and were injured in a “serious incident”.

Iowa Congresswoman Ashley Hinson stated on social media she was “horrified” that the Cornell College faculty members had been “brutally stabbed”.

Governor Kim Reynolds said it was “in contact with Iowa’s federal delegation and the state department in response to this attack”. She added that please pray for their complete recovery, safe return, and their families at home,”.

A US State Department spokesperson stated it was “aware of reports of a stabbing incident in Jilin, China.  However, Jilin provincial administration has not commented on the attack.
