Fourth Death Anniversary of Comedy King Amanullah Being Observed Today

LAHORE: Fourth death anniversary of comedy king Amanullah Khan is being observed today (Wednesday).

From a humble family in Gujranwala, Khan came to Lahore in the 1970s to earn a good living. Before entering the entertainment industry, he sold sweets and candies in public buses.

His talent was first spotted in a road show in Lahore. He rose to fame for his performance in a local theatre in which he mimicked other famous celebrities.

Famous Pakistani singer, Tufail Niazi introduced Amanullah to the showbiz industry. Over the years Amanullah earned huge respect from Pakistan and across the world.

During his career of over 45 years, Khan performed in more than 2,000 stage plays, along with films and television shows.

Amanullah was known to be as one of the best comedians in Pakistan.

He also influenced many young artists as well as people. He made a record of doing 860 shows and was also awarded the Pride of Performance from the government of Pakistan in 2018 for his contribution to the world of theater.

The renowned comedian passed away on March 6, 2020 because of kidney failure at a private hospital in Lahore.
