CHAGHI: A freight train that was heading from Quetta to Zahedan experienced a derailment in the Chagai district on Tuesday, with a total of 11 bogies going off the tracks.

Officials from the railway acted quickly after discovering that 11 bogies from the freight car had swerved off the tracks.

Railway officials swiftly responded to the incident, suspending train services between Iran and Pakistan until further notice.

Trains to and from Zahedan have been halted as a result. Rescue teams have been dispatched to assess the situation and implement necessary measures.

This incident follows an earlier derailment near Dera Nawab railway station, where two bogies derailed from a Karachi to Lahore freight train, leading to the closure of up and down tracks and affecting railway operations at various stations.

Clearance work is underway to restore normal operations.
