ISLAMABAD: The Department of French, National University of Modern Languages (NUML) celebrated the Agreement for academic cooperation between Alliance Française d’Islamabad and the university on Wednesday.
This Agreement was signed in 2020, but the ceremony of this Agreement was not held due to covid-19 pandemic.
Nicolas Galey, the Ambassador of France, was the guest of honour, while Dean Faculty of Languages Jamil Asghar Jami, Gaelle Le Breton, Director of all Alliance Françaises in Pakistan, Ali Bhatti, Pro-Rector RSI Dr Zubair Iqbal, Director, Alliance Française Islamabad and Hannah Bieber, Education Officer of French as a Foreign Language at French Embassy attended the ceremony.
The French Ambassador stressed the need for cooperation between the two nations in the science, technology, and education sectors.
The primary aim of this Agreement was to promote friendly exchange visits between the two countries in the fields of French teaching, research and language. Primarily the DELF examinations shall be held at the NUML premises.
The other activities to be carried out through collaboration include internships, short courses, workshops, and seminars. In the end, students of the French department concluded the ceremony with the presentation of songs and cultural dance. — APP
