PARIS: A French diplomat has tragically died due to injuries sustained in an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip. The diplomat had sought refuge in the residence of a colleague from the French consulate in Rafah, along with two other colleagues and family members.
The home was struck by an Israeli attack last Wednesday, resulting in injuries to the diplomat and the death of around ten people, according to an official statement from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Israeli Attack on French Diplomat Condemned
The statement revealed that the deceased diplomat had been serving France since 2002. France strongly condemned the Israeli aerial assault on a residential building that killed several civilian people.
Calling for accountability, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formally requested the Israeli authorities to provide comprehensive explanations regarding the circumstances surrounding the bombardment at the earliest.
