RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayers for the Pakistan Army soldiers who embraced martyrdom during operations against terrorists in the northwestern Khyber district were held with full military honors in Orakzai, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.
The ISPR statement stated that the funeral prayers were attended by senior Pakistan Army officials, soldiers, the martyrs’ family members, and a large number of local dignitaries. The bodies of the martyrs will be sent to their native areas for burial with full military honors.
These brave soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice while gallantly fighting against Fitnah-ul-Khawarij in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
On Tuesday, ISPR said in a statement that at least 25 terrorists were killed and four soldiers martyred during a week-long intelligence-based operation in the Tirah Valley.
The operations targeted Fitnah-ul-Khawarij—also known as Lashkar-e-Islam and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar—resulted in significant losses for the group. Since August 20, these operations have led to the killing of 25 Khawarij, including their leader Abu Zar alias Saddam, with 11 others injured.
The statement highlighted the bravery of the four soldiers who laid down their lives in defence of the nation.
