RAWALPINDI: Funeral prayers of a Pakistan Army officer and five soldiers, martyred during an exchange of fire with Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists in North Waziristan’s Spinwam area, were offered at Peshawar Garrison, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release on Saturday.
According to ISPR, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat (Age: 43 years, resident of: District Faisalabad), Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah (age: 31 Years, resident of District Khyber), Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman (age: 30 years, resident of District Lakki Marwat), Lance Naik Shahid Ullah (age:29 years, resident of District Tank), Lance Naik Yusaf Ali (age:31 years, resident of District Orkazai), and Sepoy Jameel Ahmed (age:26 years, resident of District Swat) embraced martyrdom while fighting gallantly against the Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists in North Waziristan.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, senior serving army and civil officers, soldiers and relatives of the martyred soldiers participated in the funeral prayers.
The bodies of the martyrs were sent to their native areas where they will be laid to rest with full military honours, ISPR said.
“These sacrifices of our martyrs further strengthen our resolve and courage in the fight against terrorism,” ISPR stated.
According to the ISPR, “On night 4/5 October 2024, fire exchange took place between the Security Forces and Khawarij in Spinwam area of North Waziristan District. Resultantly, six Khawarij were sent to hell due to effective engagement by Pakistan Army troops,”.
The ISPR said, “However, during the intense fire exchange, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat (Age: 43 years, resident of: District Faisalabad), a brave officer who was leading his troops from the front, fought gallantly and embraced shahadat along with his five men,”. Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat left behind a widow and three kids.
“The five brave soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice include Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah (age: 31 Years, resident of District Khyber), Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman (age: 30 years, resident of District Lakki Marwat), Lance Naik Shahid Ullah (age:29 years, resident of District Tank) and Lance Naik Yusaf Ali (age:31 years, resident of District Orkazai), Sepoy Jameel Ahmed (age:26 years, resident of District Swat),” the ISPR maintained.
Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah, who dedicated 13 years to defending the motherland, left behind his wife. Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman who dedicated 10 years to defending Pakistan, left behind his wife. Lance Naik Shahid Ullah served seven years to defend the nation and left behind his widow. 31-year-old Lance Naik Yusaf Ali, who dedicated 11 years to defending the motherland, left behind his wife. 26 years old Sepoy Jameel Ahmed who dedicated 5 years to defending the nation, left behind his wife.
Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
