NEW DELHI: Pakistan Cricket is under fire following their embarrassing 2-0 series defeat against Bangladesh in Test cricket. The series, held at Rawalpindi Stadium, saw Pakistan lose the first match by 10 wickets and the second by six wickets.
Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly has criticized Pakistan’s cricketing performance, urging stakeholders to assess the issues within the team. “There’s a noticeable lack of talent in the country,” Ganguly commented.
“When we think of Pakistan cricket, we remember legends like Miandad, Wasim, Waqar, Saeed Anwar, Mohammad Yousuf, and Younis Khan.
Those memories don’t win matches today. Every generation needs to produce outstanding players, and it’s clear that Pakistan is struggling to do that in the current era.”
Ganguly emphasized that his remarks are not meant to disrespect current Pakistani players but rather to highlight a gap between past and present talent.
“Pakistan used to be known for its exceptional cricketers, but I don’t see that quality in the current squad,” he added. “People involved in Pakistan cricket need to address this issue.”
