KARACHI: Three people sustained injuries in a gas pipeline explosion in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, rescue sources reported. The incident, which occurred near the Nipa Bridge, prompted a swift response from rescue officials who evacuated the injured, including a woman.

Initial findings from Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) officials said that the blast resulted from a gas pipeline explosion caused by drug addicts. Reportedly, the individuals lit a fire to smoke drugs under the NIPA Bridge, leading to the explosion.

The impact of the blast also caused the collapse of the wall of the KMC workshop, although no critical injuries were reported.

Emergency response teams are actively engaged in managing the aftermath of the incident, with investigations likely to shed light on the sequence of events that led to the gas pipeline explosion.
