GAZA: The health ministry in Gaza said Tuesday that around 29,195 people have been killed in the Palestinian territory during the war between Hamas and Israel.
In a statement, the ministry said a total of 103 people died in the last 24 hours, while another 69,170 people have been injured since the war erupted on October 7.
The new development comes as UNSC is set to vote on a new draft resolution today, calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The resolution, put forward by Algeria, stresses the need for an immediate humanitarian truce that all sides must adhere to.

The new resolution comes amid escalating tensions in the region. However, there are mounting pressures asking Israel to hold off on its military actions in Gaza.
However, the US has expressed reservations regarding the resolution, warning of a potential veto. US Deputy Ambassador to the UN, Robert Wood said that the proposed resolution could also jeopardize delicate diplomatic talks aimed at securing the release of hostages from the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Permanent Envoy to the UN Munir Akram said that veto powers at the UN Security Council’s (UNSC) have failed to bring peace in the Gaza Strip. He told the media that he opposed the addition of another permanent member to the United Nations Security Council.
