GAZA: The health ministry in Gaza on Saturday said that at least 37,551 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in the besieged territory during more than eight months of Israeli bombardment and ground offensive.

It said that Israel’s war on Gaza, now in its 260th day, has injured 85,911, with more than 10,000 feared buried under the rubbles of bombed homes and more than 9,500 abducted by Israeli forces.

“Israeli attacks killed 101 people and injured 169 others in the last 24 hours alone,” the statement said.

Israel, flouting a UNSC resolution demanding an immediate truce, has faced global condemnation amid its continued brutal operation on Gaza since Oct. 7.

Cuba joins ICJ case against Israel

Meanwhile, Cuba has joined an International Court case against Israel over alleged genocide in Gaza.

According to Radio Havana Cuba, under its obligations to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, Cuba will use its right as a third state to present its interpretation of the convention.

The case seeks an end to atrocities against the Palestinian people in Gaza due to Israel’s disproportionate and indiscriminate use of force.

Cuba says that Israel, shielded by the United States, has constantly ignored its obligations as an occupying power under the Geneva Convention.

In another development, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has said that its Gaza office was ‘damaged’ by a shell attack Friday that killed around 22 people who had taken shelter around the building.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has also warned that the health system in the Gaza Strip is near collapse as casualties from an Israeli strike on the al-Mawasi “safe zone” pour into Al-Aqsa Hospital.

UN Chief Antonio Guterres has stressed the complex and chaotic situation in the Gaza Strip, describing it as “total lawlessness.”
