NEW YORK: Prominent actress Angelina Jolie has reacted to Israel’s barbaric attack on the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate cease-fire, Western media reported on Thursday.
She also shared pictures of the refugee camp following the Israeli strike on her social media account, saying, “This is the deliberate shelling of a trapped people who have nowhere to flee.”

The actress stated that Gaza has been an open-air jail for about two decades and the area is fast becoming a mass grave, she added. Angelina Jolie maintained that 40 percent of those killed were innocent children.
“Whole families are being killed. While the international community watches and with the active support of several governments, millions of Palestinians’ children, women, families are being collectively punished and brutalized, all while being deprived medicine, food, and humanitarian help against global law.
By declining to demand a humanitarian truce and blocking the UNSC from imposing one on both parties, world leaders are also complicit in these war crimes against innocent Palestinians, she further said.
