CARIO: The Egyptian official and an aid worker, speaking anonymously, revealed that discussions were underway between the United Nations, various aid agencies, and Egypt to facilitate the provision of humanitarian assistance to the besieged Gaza.
The aid was intended to be transported through the Rafah crossing point connecting Gaza and Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. The officials noted that Egyptian authorities had initiated contact with Israel and the United States to establish secure humanitarian corridors within Gaza, a response to Israel’s sustained bombardment of the area.
