RIYADH: The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has strongly condemned the Knesset’s approval of a bill rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

He stated, “The decision of the Israeli occupation forces is a clear violation of international resolutions related to the Palestinian cause and confirms their desire and continued efforts to fuel tension and threaten security and stability in the region and the world.”

He called upon the global community to condemn and reject this unjust decision, which demonstrates the Israeli occupation forces’ intentions to expand the conflict and their unwillingness to achieve stability and peace in the region.

Albudaiwi reiterated the positions of GCC countries on the Palestinian cause, supporting the establishment of an independent state of Palestine within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and supporting the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights.
