GCC Secretary General Meets UN Chief to Strengthen Cooperation and Peace Efforts

NEW YORK: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, held a constructive meeting with UN Secretary General António Guterres during the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The discussions revolved around enhancing international peace and security through cooperation and addressing the latest international developments.
UN Secretary General Guterres conveyed his deep appreciation for the significant efforts made by the GCC countries, both regionally and globally, in their pursuit of peace across various conflicts. He also commended the humanitarian and developmental initiatives undertaken by the member states of the council on a global scale.

In turn, Albudaiwi expressed gratitude for the preparatory work conducted by the UN General Assembly in anticipation of its session, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to foster peace and stability on the international stage. The meeting exemplifies the commitment of both the GCC and the UN to working together for the betterment of global peace and security.
