LONDON: The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has met with UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa Hamish Falconer and discussed developments in the Middle East, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
During the meeting, at the British Foreign Office in London, several matters were discussed, including a review of the ties between the GCC and the United Kingdom within the framework of their strategic relationship and ways to strengthen these ties to serve common interests. The latest developments in the talks for a free trade agreement between the GCC and the UK were also addressed.
Albudaiwi added that recent developments in the Middle East came under discussion, particularly the serious Israeli violations against innocent civilians in Gaza and the impact of this crisis on regional and international security and stability.

He stressed that both sides underscored the significance of Israel facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. He also added that both sides affirmed the necessity of resolving this crisis in accordance with UN resolutions and discussed ways to address regional challenges and bring stability and security in the region.
