RIYADH: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Al-Budaiwi has said the 6th joint ministerial meeting of strategic dialogue between Russia and Gulf nations, scheduled to be organized in Moscow on Monday. In a statement, he said that the aim of the meeting is to strengthen ties and serve the interests of the two countries.
GCC Secretary General Vows to Extend Cooperation with Russia
Al-Budaiwi added that various matters of regional and global importance will be discussed to enhance cooperation between the two sides. The GCC chief described ties between Russia and the GCC as “distinguished,” and said they had inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) about strategic dialogue in 2011, a hint of their desire to further cementing their relations.
He further said that the GCC, via the directives of the leaders of its member nations, is always trying to work to cooperate and develop ties with all nations and regional blocs, to increase the regional and global presence of the GCC by establishing strategic ties and partnerships with international community.
