GCWUS Organizes International Seminar, Art Exhibition

SIALKOT: An international seminar and art exhibition was held on the completion of 100 years of the Republic of Turkiye at the Government College Women’s University Sialkot.

Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Mehmet Paçaci, was the chief guest at the ceremony. Vice Chancellor Government College Women University Sialkot Prof. Dr. Zarin Fatima Rizvi welcomed the guests.

The Turkish ambassador appreciated the artwork related to the relations between Pakistan and Turkiye by the students of the Fine Art Department of GCWUS. He said the artwork of students was full of creativity, which reflected his thoughts and feelings regarding the hundred years of ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.

Later, an international seminar was also held at the GCWUS Auditorium, in which students presented a performance of Allama Iqbal’s Kalam, which was appreciated by the guests and audience.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Mehmet Paçaci underlined the joint efforts of the Muslims of the Subcontinent and Turkiye during the Khilafat movement. He appreciated Pakistan and Turkiye’s 100-year-old relationship and their support for each other in times of trouble.

Prof. Dr. Khalil, Director of Yunus Emre Institute Pakistan, said that he had a love for the Urdu language and love for Urdu was impossible without Allama Iqbal.

Education Counselor Mehmet Turan said that significant work was being done in the field of education and research between Turkiye and Pakistan, and more projects would be worked on in the future.

Addressing the seminar, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zarin Fatima Rizvi congratulated Turkiye on the completion of one hundred years. She introduced the university and highlighted the achievements of the university in detail.

She congratulated the Director of Student Affairs Dr. Shagufta, and the Head of the Fine Arts Department, Raza Rehman, for the successful organization of the program.
