German Airline Lufthansa Extends Flight Suspension to Beirut

FRANKFURT: German airline group Lufthansa announced on Wednesday that it is extending the suspension of flights to Beirut until the end of February due to escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Earlier, Lufthansa had suspended flights to Beirut until November 30. The airline also stated that it would extend the suspension of services to Tehran, the capital of Iran, until the end of January, having previously halted flights until October 31.

Lufthansa, which includes carriers such as Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, has frequently adjusted its flight schedule in recent months in response to increasing tensions in the Middle East, as have many other airlines.

Earlier this week, the airline announced it would extend its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv in Israel until November 10.
