ISLAMABAD: The German Embassy in Pakistan has delivered a ray of hope to deserving organizations by handing over the funds generated from last year’s successful Charity Christmas Market.
With an impressive total of PKR 3 million, the surplus from the market that went towards donations has doubled compared to 2022.
Alfred Grannas, accompanied by Embassy Representatives, held meetings with organizations, including the Master Ayub School, Aaghosh Mera Ghar, Haashar Association, Al-Firdous Welfare Association, Rawalpindi Leprosy Hospital, and MOM – Music on Mission, formally presenting the charitable donations.
The purpose of these meetings was to formally present the generous donations and to discuss how these funds would be utilized for various charitable causes.
During these meetings, the recipient organizations outlined their plans for utilizing the funds for various charitable causes and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the German Ambassador for this generous contribution.
Ambassador Grannas was impressed by the impactful work carried out by these organizations: “I am delighted to learn that our proceeds are being directed towards exceptional projects that are creating a positive difference in society,” he stated.
Background of German Embassy Initiative
In December 2023, the German Embassy once again hosted the German Christmas Charity Market at a local hotel in Islamabad. With approximately 650 guests from around 50 countries, the market provided an opportunity for visitors to purchase gifts from diverse stalls while enjoying authentic German food and hospitality, spreading the Christmas spirit.
