German Embassy in Islamabad Celebrates German Unity Day 2024

ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Islamabad celebrated German Unity Day with a vibrant garden reception on Thursday, marking the historic reunification of East and West Germany on October 3, 1990.

The day commemorates the end of 41 years of separation and the emergence of a united German nation.

On the occasion, German Ambassador to Pakistan, Alfred Grannas, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the historical importance of the reunification. He reflected on the remarkable achievements and progress made by Germany since this crucial moment in history.

“German Unity Day is not only a celebration of our past but also a reminder of the strength we draw from our unity,” the Ambassador said.

The reception was hosted by the German Embassy and drew a diverse group of distinguished guests from both Pakistan and the international community.
