BEIJING: ‘Ya Ya’, the female giant panda, returned to her home in the Beijing Zoo on Monday after being quarantined in Shanghai, said the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.

The administration claimed that Ya Ya’s health is now stable. She born on August 3, 2000 at the Beijing Zoo. She and ‘Le Le’, her fellow giant panda, were sent to the Memphis Zoo in the US in April 2003 as envoys of friendship, and they were warmly received.

Unfortunately, ‘Le Le’ died due to heart disease in February this year, before their scheduled return to their homeland China. However, ‘Ya Ya’ returned to Shanghai on April 27 from the U.S.

To prepare for her return, the Beijing Zoo has selected a unique venue and developed Health care, nutrition and nursing plans for ‘Ya Ya’.

After ‘Ya Ya’ returns to Beijing, the experienced staff from the Beijing Zoo that was with her during the quarantine period will continue to take care of her requirements.

According to the administration, ‘Ya Ya’ won’t see the public for the time being as she needs to relax and adjust to the new surroundings due to her advanced age.

According to the administration, her latest updates will be posted through the official microblog of the zoo.

According to the Administration, after being quarantined in Shanghai, east China, ‘Ya Ya’ came back to the Beijing Zoo early Monday. Ya Ya’s health is now in stable condition, and they arrived in Shanghai on April 27 from the United States. — APP
